Cynthia McKinney is a very rare gem.
In 2008 McKinney ran for President as candidate of the Green Party of the United States. Fresh from her unsuccessful but heroic campaign, she joined the Gaza relief vessel Dignity back in late December 2008.
Here’s an interview she gave in early June 2010, following the vicious Israeli attack on the Gaza Peace flotilla:
Between 1997-2003 and again in 2005-2007, Cynthis McKinney was one of the most effective members of the US Congress – one of the VERY few to ask ANY hard questions of the Bush Administration on crucial topics such as 9-11 and the invasion of Iraq.
Here’s Cynthia McKinney quizzing Donald Rumsfeld and associates in Congessional hearings held in 2006 about US military contractors involved in sex-slave trading (!), literally TRILLIONS of dollars missing from US ‘Department of Defence’ accounts – and at least four simultaneous ‘war games’ that just happened to be underway on the very same morning as September 11th 2001. Under her questioning, Chief-of-Staff General Myers actually claims the serendipitously-simultaneous ‘war games’ helped speed up the US Government response on the day!
McKinney is the kind of leadership the worlds needs today.
Absorb this inspiring speech she gave in 2008 at Sonoma State University, launching Project Censored :
Finally, watch the job done on her by CNN in 2006 (see video below), when Cynthia was defeated for the second time in a District Primary, by an opponent backed with generous outside support.

Images of Cynthia McKinney via a Google search. Most of these thumbnails make this inspiring and elegant woman look demented. Is Google out to trash her reputation too?
In 2002, when she was defeated the first time as encumbent, Alexander Cockburn reported in Counterpunch that the Jewish Lobby had been particularly active in funding her opponent.
Cynthia McKinney is one of the few prominent American politicians who stands up to the censorious and haughty pro-Israel Lobby. It has not made for an easy career – but she has chosen the path with heart.
It brings great rewards: genuine dignity and real respect.
