After last week, you may be thinking that the Israeli regime are a bunch of arrogant, murdering, maiming, lying shysters.

Making light of murder, laughing at the worl
Sad to say, you’d be right.
But what you may have missed is their sense of humour. Netanyahu – and all the junior yahoos who steer the nuclear-armed Israeli Ship of Rogues – aren’t just surly war criminals. They like a laugh too.
I just spotted this mind-numbing tale, contributed by Ayman Mohyeldin, on the Al Jazeera website: Israeli government’s media madness
It’s short – and I trust acceptable to quote in entirety [emphasis added]:
For weeks the Israeli government has bombarded journalists with statements, press releases and videos - all professing that Gaza is not suffering a humanitarian crisis, there is no shortage of goods entering the Strip and even mocking the suffering of people in Gaza by recommending restaurants to visit in the coastal territory.
It also went so far as to claim those on board the Freedom Flotilla had links to al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations. They showed us edited video clips of military footage supporting their version of events as to what happened onboard the Mavi Marmara – reports that are now widely discredited by eyewitness accounts.
That is the Israeli narrative of events and it is certainly within their rights to espouse it.
But the most recent video distributed on Friday by the Israeli government press office (which belongs to the Israeli prime minister’s office and is responsible for accrediting foreign journalists) is distasteful and insulting to those killed and injured on the Freedom Flotilla, and quite frankly disturbing – especially since it was made by the Jerusalem Post’s deputy managing editor, Caroline Glick, who also moonlights for the American Center for Security Policy in Washington, DC. (Read more about Caroline Glick and her dual role as a pro-Israeli advocate and “credible journalist” in mainstream American and Israeli media here.)
Here’s the video*:
Mr Mohyeldin relates that the video was officially withdrawn later in the week:
On Friday afternoon, the Israeli Government issued the following email:
Due to a misunderstanding on our part, earlier today we inadvertently issued a video link that had been sent for our perusal. It was not intended for general release. The contents of the video in no way represent the official policy of either the Government Press Office or of the State of Israel.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
Thank you for your patients and understanding.
Efraim Roseman
So there we have it. Just an inside laugh.
The Zionist regime did not intend to taunt the world by turning our outrage into a joke. It just looks like it. Sorry for ‘any inconvenience’.
Meanwhile, the Israeli media obsesses, yet again, over the ever-hyped and miraculously non-existent ‘rise of anti-Semitism’.
Funny people.

* UPDATE: 13th June 2010… The noxious ‘satirical’ video discussed above was a send-up of the inspiring, multi-artiste ‘We are the world’ song, produced in the 1990s as part of the attempt to promote a more equal and socially-just world.
I mention this now, because while it was online, the video was self-explanatory. But it’s no longer available on YouTube as you may have noticed – apparently because the copyright owners of the original song demanded a take down.
Personally, I think that’s a shame. Israeli propaganda is usually shown only on pro-Israel websites. But this video was so conspiruously evil and out of step with enlightened world opinion that many anti-Zionists sites, such as this, chose to display it. Few things better-exposed the spiteful, sectarian self-righteousness of the modern Israeli mindset.
Here are the lyrics:
There comes a time
When we need to make a show
For the world, the Web and CNN
There’s no people dying,
so the best that we can do
Is create the greatest bluff of all
We must go on pretending day by day
That in Gaza, there’s crisis, hunger and plague
Coz the billion bucks in aid won’t buy their basic needs
Like some cheese and missiles for the kids
We’ll make the world
Abandon reason
We’ll make them all believe that the Hamas
Is Momma Theresa
We are peaceful travelers
With guns and our own knives
The truth will never find its way to your TV
Ooooh, we’ll stab them at heart
They are soldiers, no one cares
We are small, and we took some pictures with doves
As Allah showed us, for facts there’s no demand
So we will always gain the upper hand
We’ll make the world
Abandon reason
We’ll make them all believe that the Hamas
Is Momma Theresa
We are peaceful travelers
we’re waving our own knives
The truth will never find its way to your TV
If Islam and terror brighten up your mood
But you worry that it may not look so good
Well well well well don’t you realize
You just gotta call yourself
An activist for peace and human aid
We’ll make the world
Abandon reason
We’ll make them all believe that the Hamas
Is Momma Theresa
We are peaceful travelers
We’re waving our own knives
The truth will never find its way to your TV
We con the world
We con the people
We’ll make them all believe the IDF is Jack the Ripper
We are peaceful travelers
We’re waving our own knives
The truth will never find its way to your TV
We con the world
We con the people
We’ll make them all believe the IDF is Jack the Ripper
We are peaceful travelers
We’re waving our own knives
the truth will never find its way to your TV
The truth will never find its way to your TV”
