The era of pain-free support for the Apartheid Zionist State is over.

Ordinary people – throughout the so-called ‘western world’ – are obtaining our own education about Zionist history and the plight of the Palestinian people. The mass media hasn’t helped – but what to expect of an institution so egregiously corrupted and biased towards Zionism?

The Rudd government will send a 40-member delegation, led by deputy prime minister Julia Gillard, to an “Australia Israel Leadership Forum” in Jerusalem on June 25-26. The government’s decision is yet further confirmation of its desire to outdo the former Howard government in blind support for Israel.

Gillard will be accompanied by Labor MPs Michael Danby, Mark Dreyfus and Mike Kelly. Liberal MPs and senators Peter Costello, Christopher Pyne, George Brandis and Guy Barnett will also attend. Scientists, academics, businesspeople and journalists will complete the delegation.

The visit has been organised by Zionist lobby group Australia Israel Cultural Exchange (AICE). The group was launched in 2002 by then-foreign minister Alexander Downer and then-Israeli foreign minister (and now prime minister) Benjamin Netanyahu.

AICE sponsored Kevin Rudd’s first trip to Israel in the same year, as well as a second in 2005.

Doc Evatt: Australia's quintessential Zionist suckhole. Was he bought, fooled or both?

I’ll make a prediction. During the tour, there will be copious gush about the ‘magnificent’ role played by Australia’s former Prime Minister Evatt in the foundation of the Israeli State.

It’s quite true Doc Evatt showed a mysterious passion for the Zionist cause. Was his palm crossed, like other political leaders of his era? It seems possible. Perhaps he was just one of Zion’s ‘useful idiots’? Dr Daniel Mandel, closely associated with the Australia/Israel & Jewish Affairs Council, wrote a biography of Evatt with the curious title: ‘The Undercover Zionist’.

Yet like many left-wing politicians who supported Israel in its formative stages, the Australian politician probably had a very naive view of the real intentions of the Zionist leadership.

From his position as President of the General Assembly of the United Nations – a post that these days has been sidelined by the ‘bullies club’ of the UN Security Council – Evatt helped steer the partition resolution over Palestine that granted 55% of the Palestinian Mandate Territory to the Jewish minority for its own sectarian State. In the event, Jewish militia seized 78% of the territory by the end of the Nakba (known as the ‘Jewish War of Independence’ to participants such as Frank Lowy and Elie Wiesel). These days, of course, Israel’s hard-line supremacist regime controls almost all of Palestine.

Less well-remembered is that Evatt also sponsored a UN resolution calling for the internationalization of Jerusalem.

NOf course, no-one expects Ms Gillard and her fellow sycophants to remind their hosts about this inconvenient history.

Particularly insulting to Australians of British ancestry is that the ‘friendship’ delegation will hold a gala dinner at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem.

Presumably they have undertakings Jewish terrorists won’t blow it up once again, while they are inside?
