Devastating Free Trade Agreements

While Crean and Rudd yesterday have put us into a BIG phony free trade deal in Asia on the way to a Asia Pacific community people - in the EU and the US business and farmers want reform.

http://www.opednews.com/articles/Farmers-Call-For-NAFTA-Ref-by-Dana-Gabriel-090226-622.html

At a recent trilateral conference held in Billings, Montana, there was a general consensus among livestock producers that NAFTA is not working for North American farmers, ranchers and consumers alike.

NAFTA has enabled large agribusinesses to set up monopolies and in many cases, has prevented farmers from uniting and defending their own best interests. As a result of NAFTA and the WTO, a small number of multinational corporations control much of our food production in North America.

NAFTA has been devastating for many farmers and nowhere is this more evident than in Mexico where over a million agricultural jobs have been lost as a result of the trade agreement.
NAFTA, along with the WTO, have been used to drive down labour costs and environmental standards, in an effort to further increase corporate profits. Many farmers in North America and around the world have been greatly affected. While income for farmers is on the decline, food prices continue to rise. NAFTA undermines our sovereignty and has weakened local governments ability to make decisions concerning food and agriculture. There desperately needs to be more measures put in place to better protect farmers. Our globalized food system is a complete failure and has served to benefit multinational corporations, at the expense of small independent farmers. There are little things we can all do in our everyday lives to challenge this corporate system. This includes supporting and buying from local producers as well as becoming more self-sufficient.

Oh dear. I think we’ll have to agree to disagree for now, on this matter at least.

The article you referred to started with some promise: “CO2 is 3.168% of the total greenhouse effect. Around 0.117% is man-made CO2 greenhouse gas effect. CO2 is an insignificant greenhouse gas, especially in terms of man-made contribution. Water is the only significant greenhouse gas.”

I thought I might be going to read an interesting take on what is a complex issue - the relationship between and relative significence of water vapor and CO2 with regard to the greenhouse effect. But no, the author merely notes his point as fact, without a reference. then he’s on to another topic, another 'dot point', another rant. By the end he’s ranting about polar bears.

I’m sorry, Von Curtis. I realize I deal with some ‘off the beaten track’ topics on this blog. But I do like science and evidence. I don’t treat science as a God - but I do take account of scientific findings. I like rational debate, not the mere re-iteration of preconceived positions.

Hi Syd, Would you still say SPOT ON if I added the The Global Warming Hoax And Scam http://newworldliberty.wordpress.com/2009/02/26/global-warming-is-a-hoax-quick-and-dirty/

http://whatreallyhappened.com/

Comment from that article :
the ice caps melt every year. it is called spring and summer. and they freeze back. in an older article, i referenced the videos and studies showing the ice caps are actually growing.

it isn’t a liberal conspiracy. it isn’t a conservative conspiracy. george bush even supported it. it is called controlled opposition. it is called the false left/right paradigm.

the “overwhelming” science community are working for grant dollars. i worked in the industry. i know the game and how frightening it is when the funding starts to run low because you’re scrambling for the next project with funding so you can pay your bills. they consist of about 2,000 scientists, many of them not even in climate scientists, and many them not even supportive of the hoax of man-made global warming. the unbought scientific community, approaching 100,000, do not agree with the “facts” of the global warming scam.

carbon taxes is definitely not the solution because that is the key motive for promoting a man-made global warming hoax.

i should have titled it “global warming scam” but people tend to google “global warming hoax” more than they google “global warming scam”.

how can this be? how can the rockefeller and rothschild owned press spread so much disinformation and lies? they own over half the world’s wealth. they own almost every central bank in the world. they control markets. they own key industries. they control governments. they fund numerous institutions. they keep their secret out of the press.

watch the video in the next post, rothschild and rockefeller. it sums up well what is really going on.

you’re a tool. santa claus is not real and neither is man-made carbon dioxide global warming.

I'll tell you another hoax too and that is getting us the public to focus on executive huge salaries, to attack them and put a cap on their pay while the crooks up the top in the private central banks are above the law and are making billions out of looting the middle class.

tell the public the truth and I will gladly shut this blog down

http://www.itszone.co.uk/zone0/viewtopic.php?p=542649#542649

Dear Corporate Media

I will make you a deal.

Start telling the people the truth about what is going on. Tell them the truth about 9-11, the truth about the lie of Saddam's "nookular" weapons, the truth about what went on an Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo, the truth about how FDR suckered the Japanese into the attack on Pearl Harbor, the truth about no torpedoes in the Gulf of Tonkin, the truth about USS Liberty. Tell the public the truth about MOCKINGBIRD and COINTELPRO and the 16th Amendment and the Federal Reserve. And I don't mean twenty years after the fact when it no longer matters, tell the people the truth when they need to hear it, like right now about how Iran does not have a clandestine weapons lab under their power station but Israel does.

You all start telling the public the truth and I will gladly shut this blog down and let your readers go back to you, because frankly after 16 years I am tired of

doing your job for you for no money while listening to you whine about how your ad revenues have declined because of us mean old bloggers.

Deal?

Deal?

Deal?
