Donald Rumsfeld with George Bush - criminals together

In a bye-gone era, back in 1963, the man who would later mature into a multiple (as yet unindicted) war criminal was just finding his feet as a newly-elected Congressman for the 13th congressional district in Illinois.

Donald Rumsfeld wrote the odd letter at the time which provide insights into what was of concern to the ambitious rising political star – a few months before President J.F. Kennedy was murdered.

This is what Congressman Rumsfeld wrote to the Attorney General of the day, whose name was Robert Kennedy. (Thanks to the Israel Lobby Archive where I spotted this letter – copy below):

Wonder who those “several thoughtful and valued constituents” were, who “expressed their concern” to Rumsfeld. Was Si Kenen* one of these?

Rumsfeld “finding his feet”? Well, he can’t have been that green, protective as he was, as his July 15, 1963, letter indicates, of the American Zionist Council, the precursor to AIPAC.

Hoping Michael Collins Piper will update his 2004/6th edition of “Final Judgment” now that US DOJ files declassified in 2008 reveal that JFK ordered the American Zionist Council to register as the agent of Israel under the Foreign Agents Registration Act:

“On November 21, 1962, the Department of Justice Internal Security Section ordered the American Zionist Council to register as the agent of a foreign principal. This occurred shortly after the second Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearings on Israel’s foreign agents revealed extensive AZC funding and direction from the quasi-governmental Jewish Agency in Jerusalem.”

Then on Dec 11, 1963, eleven days before JFK’s assassination, AZC’s lawyer (at a prominent NY law firm) wrote to the DOJ, stating:

“As you know, our client is not prepared to register as an agent of a foreign principal, or to concede that it is subject to the registration requirement. It has, however, no reluctance to make this information available voluntarily……We request, however, under the circumstances, that these papers be kept in files of the Department not available for general public inspection.”

*[A US Senate Foreign Relations Committee investigation revealed that AIPAC Founder Isaiah L. "Si" Kenen continued to receive funding from Israel for lobbying and public relations into the early 1960's. Kenen himself had been previously ordered to re-register as a foreign agent when he left the direct employment of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.]

James Petras did a 50min radio segment on the “Israel Lobby”, just prior to Obama’s inauguration. He doesn’t incorporate the above, but does discuss how the “lobby” has evolved into the insidious hold it has on virtual all aspects of US life, political and otherwise.
