It is interesting that Michael is clearly and some may say intentionally blind to the double standard and lack of balance in his writing of the emotional experience between the genders. Nor has he responded to letters to him on the topic. He openly advocates for the recognition of inequity of any feminist perspective, which is by any measure an honorable task. However his lack of balance and perspective in his work clearly lacks the same equity principles for his own gender when he actively denigrates and denounces the men’s movement for doing the same for hurt or broken men. One can only speculate as to why Michael maintains such a loss of balance, compassion or empathy and credibility towards his socio-sexist myopia which has no place in the balanced research of observing, reporting or policy acvice in academia.

Yes, it's annoying stuff. Someone else created the Wikipedia entry on me, I heard about it, and I occasionally update or correct it. The most frequent edits are by anti-feminist advocates who want to paint me as anti-male. But recently, someone is persisting in describing me as 'opposed to sex-positive feminism'. That's just inaccurate. I'm certainly critical of aspects of some libertarian critiques of censorship, and I'm also deeply critical of moral conservative advocacy of censorship, and more widely, passionately supportive of feminism and queer rights. Anyway, I just hope that people read past the insulting and inaccurate descriptions and look at what I've actually written.
Cheers,
michael flood.

It has come to my attention that Michael Flood may not be an advocate of the Australian Government's Internet censorship proposal any longer.

The following is an extract from a comment posted by Dr Flood to the EFA's stop-censorship mailing list.

> I haven't been participating in recent debates about porn and filtering,
> mainly because I simply don't have time. But also because I'm less
> convinced of the merits of filtering, on both political and
> technological grounds, than I was in the past.

If this reflects Dr Flood's current views it represents a welcome change of heart.
